¼ cup flour
2 tsp melted butter
Apples, peeled and cut into rings
¼ cup warm water
White of one egg
½ cup sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
Sift flour and salt. Make a well in center of flour and pour in melted butter and warm water. Work until smooth and beat well. Allow to stand for at least ½ hour. Beat egg white until very stiff and fold into batter.
Mix together sugar and cinnamon. Coat apple slices in sugar cinnamon mixture. Dip slices of apple into batter and deep fry until golden brown. Drain, roll in sugar and serve hot with ice cream.
You may use any kind of flour, gluten free will work as well.
