If you are like me, you really enjoy the taste and texture of a ripe watermelon. The summer time is the perfect time to enjoy this unique fruit but when you bring home a large watermelon from the market, what can you do with it?
Although you certainly can slice or dice a watermelon and eat it as is, there are actually many options that you may want to consider. In the image below, you will see how to make the most of the watermelon that you purchase so that none of it goes to waste!
Keep these tips in mind when using watermelons…
Prior to the time that you slice the watermelon, you should keep it in an area where it will be slightly below room temperature. If you keep the watermelon slightly chilled, it is less likely to spoil quickly.
After you decide to cut into the watermelon, the clock starts ticking. You will have approximately 2 or 3 days to eat the watermelon until the texture and the taste begin to diminish.
