This homemade pasta sauce is much better, and healthier than any sauce you would buy in a jar.
1 1/2 cups diced red onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 16 oz. cans salt-free diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups pureed tomato/tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. basil
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
ground black pepper to taste
Chop red onion.
Place a large skillet over medium heat. Saute red onion and garlic until onions begin to turn translucent.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings.
Turn down to low heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
