Apple and Berry Crumbles

Ingredients

knob of butter
1 pound 2 ounces of Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
1/3 cup confectioners sugar
1/4 cup water
6 ounces fresh blueberries and blackberries
For the Topping

1/2 cup plain flour
For the Crumble

4 tablespoons or 1/4 cup butter, cubed
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/4 cup marzipan, grated
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Melt the butter in a large saucepan then stir in the apples and confectioners sugar. Simmer for two to three minutes, then add the water. Bring to the boil and cook for a few minutes until the apples are just soft. Stir in the berries, then remove from the heat.

To make the crumble, whiz the flour and butter in a food processor until it looks like crumbs, then stir in the brown sugar sugar.

Divide the fruit between four ramekins and top with the crumble mixture, then sprinkle the marzipan on top. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden on top and bubbling around the edges.
