Pound Cake


1 cup butter (not margarine)
3 cups granulated sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup heavy whipping cream

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9″ or 10″ tube pan. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla, lemon extract, salt and baking powder. Alternately add the flour and cream, blending well after each addition. Pour into pan and bake for 1 – 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Turn cake out on a rack to cool.
