Mothers Sugar Cream Pie


3/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups half-and-half cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pie crust unbaked
In sauce pan over medium low heat combine, white sugar, salt, half-and-half and whipping cream. Bring to a boil. In separate sauce pan, combine Brown sugar & cornstarch. Slowly whisk in hot mixture into brown sugar mixture. Add butter. 6 Cook over med. heat, whisk constantly for 5 minutes mixture will thicken. Simmer 1 minute and stir in vanilla. Pour into pie crust and sprinkle w/cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
