There are many things I look forward to in the summer but sweetcorn is certainly near the top of the list. There isn’t anything quite like biting into a nice ear of corn, tasting that juicy deliciousness and loving every minute of it.
I’ve eaten corn on the cob for years but I’ve never heard about anybody adding butter and milk to the boil. It sounded intriguing, so I cut 5 ears of fresh corn and put them in a large pot of water. After bringing the water to a boil, I added 1 stick of butter and 1 cup of milk. It boiled for 8 minutes and then I was ready to try my experiment.
As it turns out, the corn came out of the pot with an amazing flavor. There was no need to add additional butter, because it already had that buttery taste from the boil. All I did was add a little bit of salt and it was the best corn I tasted in my life. I can’t wait to try this for my friends at my next barbecue.
