Take pizza night south of the border with this zesty, unique recipe.
Ingredients (serves 5 people)
5 millilitres (1 teaspoon) salt
5 millilitres (1 teaspoon) pepper
2 millilitres (1/2 teaspoon) ground cumin
2 millilitres (1/2 teaspoon) chilli powder
2 millilitres (1/2 teaspoon) paprika
1 millilitre (1/4 teaspoon) garlic powder
1 millilitre (1/4 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
455 grams (1 pound) ground beef
250 millilitres (1 cup) water
2 prebaked 12-inch pizza crusts
1 can refried beans
175 millilitres (3/4 cup) salsa
500 millilitres (2 cups) shredded jack cheese
2 tomatoes, diced
1 jalapeno, diced
50 millilitres (1/4 cup) chopped cilantro
250 millilitres (1 cup) shredded lettuce
Directions
Combine salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder and cayenne pepper in small bowl, set aside
Brown ground beef in large saucepan
Drain and return to pan
Stir in water and seasoning mix from step 1
Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside
Spread beans, salsa and ground beef mixture on top of pizza crusts
Cover with cheese
Bake at 180 C (350 F) for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Sprinkle with tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro and lettuce
