What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about a banana split? Like many of us, you probably think about several large scoops of ice cream nestled between an entire banana that has been split in two and covered with toppings, such as whipped cream, caramel and hot chocolate.
Although that certainly is a banana split, it is not the only way to make this delight. As you will see, it is also possible to make a smaller version that is not only delicious, it is a lot of fun! Make this for your children today or serve it as a treat at your next party.
To get started, you will need 3 bananas, 6 strawberries, 1/4 pound pineapple, chopped peanuts, chocolate dipping sauce and 12 popsicle sticks.
Put the pineapple on the stick first, then the banana and finally, a piece of strawberry. Put it in the freezer for 10 minutes. In the meantime, line a tray with wax or parchment paper and put a layer of chopped nuts in a small plate for dipping purposes.
Heat chocolate in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds until it is melted. Continue to stir the chocolate and microwave it as necessary. Make sure you don’t burn the chocolate!
Dip the fruit in chocolate, then dip the chocolate in nuts. Place it on the paper lined tray to cool.
This snack is the best ever!
